John Frusciante Lesson - Under the Bridge

John Frusciante is a unique guitarist. He does things with the Red Hot Chili Peppers that are subtle but beautiful. He also has a huge collection of solo records - not mainstream, but worth researching for inspiration. He's influenced by old soul, Hendrix, Zappa, and probably lots more. This song is great.

Hendrix Style Chords Video Guitar Lesson

One of the reasons Hendrix is still such a relevant guitarist is because of the way he took traditional electric guitar playing and skanked it up. The way he plays somehow "chunks" out of different straight barre chords or extended chords. There's a really fat sound that comes out of playing like this. Take the mystery out of the Hendrix style with this lesson.

String Skipping Guitar Lesson

Very useful technique to learn no matter what style you play. Paul Gilbert plays metal / hard rock, but even if you don't, learning this really helps the dexterity of your hand and opens up abilities in any style of music. It's a good lesson. It's a great warm up exercise. Enjoy.

Freting and Alternate Picking - Beginner Metal Lick

A good basic. Even if you're not into heavy metal, this is a very good exercise to get your chops and accuracy up. I use something similiar to this as a warm up exercise. Very cool.

How To Play Lifeboy by Phish

Trey has a great way of pulling life out of otherwise simple chord progressions. I always find myself pretty amazed when I learn one of his songs to see that the it's very simple. Especially after stressing for months to learn You Enjoy Myself. So this is not too hard, but helps you stretch your fingers and pinky. Nice Phish Lesson.

Lemon Song Lesson by Led Zepplin

Very cool blues inspired tune, and a great song to play on guitar. Whether you're a fan of Led Zepplin and Jimmy Page's guitar style, this is a fun song to get under your fingers.

Frank Zappa Guitar Lesson

In the style of the great Frank Zappa, here's a cool little lesson. Zappa plays in a very odd way, using mixolydian and dorian often, and cranking distortion to make his notes really snort. Frank's solos make you think about the guitar solo in a different way. Not to mention, they're damn fun to play.

Blues Lesson on Acoustic Guitar

Nice little beginner guitar lesson. A blues jam with a nice A7 shaped embellishment.
